Although the summer months are over, I would like to share how I designed my bedroom and specifically, my summer quilt.

This year, I refreshed my whole house, especially the bedrooms, giving them a more summery feel. As you can imagine, there are many things you can change with your bedroom layouts such as the colour of your walls, and the pattern of your curtains. Even your bedding gives it a more summer feel.

One of the most important things about your home is that it must look nice and decorations must work together. There are several things to consider with your summer interiors such as the colours and patterns. One of the main patterns that I look for with my summer interior design is floral patterns and light colours. However, I like to mix this pattern with others in the room.

How To Choose Your Patterns With Summer Quilts

One of the best things about mixing and matching your quilt patterns is that it is a cost-effective way to decorate your bedroom. It is an innovative way to ensure you have a little colour and style in the place you sleep.

If you are unsure how to mix your quilt cover, then don’t worry. To start with, we recommend you purchase a quilt with one pattern or patterned sheets instead of using boring solid colours.

Stripe designs are an easy go-to as they are simple to pair up with other designs such as floral and geometric patterns.

First, you may wish to choose a simple colour for your bedding; for example, a white bed sheet or quilt cover. Whatever you choose, you will need to choose something slightly different such as striped pillowcases or a geometric patterned throw. If you want something more advanced then not a problem. However, if you wish to try something more unconventional, we suggest you try and master this combination first.

Now you have mastered the colour combination and patterns, you will want to take it to the next level. For example, if you wish to mix two striped patterns, mix up the sizes so some stripes are bigger than others.

It isn’t just the patterns, colour and design that you can mix up. You can also include different textures for your bedding. For example, have two more cushions/pillows that have tassels and pom poms to add excitement to your room.

What About The Rest Of The Bedrooms Interior Design?

Designing your bedroom is fun and a great way to pass a little time. Furthermore, it is easy once you get the basics right with interior design. One of those includes the colour palette of your room. You must stick to the same colour palette to show you have some taste in interior design.

If you wish to stick to autumnal colours, don’t choose bright, fluorescent colours. Stick to the same colour to keep consistent with the rest of the room. The same goes for your patterns as well. We suggest you do not go for two very different designs and try to mix the styles.

One of my favourite things to do when choosing my summer quilt is to match it with the pattern or the colours of my curtains. Furthermore, it may be difficult to match your curtains when you change your bedding. That is why you either choose different bedding with the same colour or bedding that shares the same patterns. However, I prefer matching the colours of both my curtains and bedding.

If you do not have curtains in your bedroom then don’t worry, there are many different blinds you can buy in a variety of colours and patterns. Nonetheless, there are a couple of things you need to consider. With it being the summer months, we suggest lighter colours that you can stick to all year round. There are thousands of different window blinds in London that you can browse to find the appropriate style and colours you would like in your room.

To Conclude

Choosing a summer quilt and design is surprisingly easy. All you need to worry about is the colours such as light blues, greens, yellow and any other colour you associate with the summer months. Furthermore, you want to choose summery designs such as floral patterns.

If you ever struggle to find the perfect pattern or colour, you can always make your own quilt cover. The best part about this is that it is to your design and something you may never fall out of love with.
