There are also many bike lanes and bike paths throughout the city. The Costa del Sol area has 26 miles (42 kilometers) of coastline that are perfect for cycling. You can take one long bike ride or divide it into shorter rides to explore different areas of the city.
If you are a serious cyclist though, Marbella has plenty to offer with the Sierra de las Nieves mountains, the Montes de Malaga and the Guadalhorce Valley. For more cultural experiences then the last historically Arabic city in Spain is Alhambra another UNESCO world heritage site. This site dates back to the 9th century and is placed on a hill overlooking the villages in granada. The military palace was converted into a royal palace by the Sultan of Granada in 1333. There are many tours available from Marbella to explore and learn all about this historic and beautiful palace.
Another historic town that is well worth enduring the winding mountain roads in your hire car or on a bus tour is Ronda. This mountain top city is perched on the dramatic El Tajo Gorge. The city dates back to Islamic times and was described by hemingway as the most romantic town in Spain – maybe this is the place you should be thinking of proposing! Or better still why not look to get married here instead! there are several amazing wineries in the Ronda area if you need to have a few drinks before getting too romantic too! The wineries in the Ronda region are old school and manually harvested using low intervention wine making techniques in keeping with the history of this stunning region. There are many cultural walking tours and they all include most of the sites that you want to visit. From the avenida del mar to the lady of the incarnation, casco antiguo and alameda park and church of our lady. the Costa del sol destination certainly has plenty to see.
Marbella weather in April
April is an excellent time to visit Marbella if you want to enjoy the weather and avoid the peak tourist season. This month is one of the sunniest times of the year, averaging about 10 hours of sunshine per day. It can be really hot in Marbella in the summer months and often hit 35 to 40 degrees in the peak on August with a really high temperature. The hottest time of year to visit in July and August is perfect for lying in the sun, getting out on the water and playing in the pool with the children. However the heat in the summer makes some of the more interesting things to do in marbella a little unpleasant.
Certainly if you are looking to get out and see what this wonderful area of Spain really has to offer then April and October and November will be nicer times to go.
