The legislative tax rebate checks approved in 2023 will be issued this week, June 16, 2023.
Tax rebate checks worth?
The residents who filed the tax return last 2021 will now receive their checks this week. Singles who were not declared dependent will receive a $500 check and for couples will be $1,000. Applications aren’t needed as long as you filed your 2021 tax return. Those who filed their 2021 tax rebate checks will automatically receive the money directly to their bank accounts. Others who don’t have bank accounts will receive the money by check.
Those who changed their bank accounts will receive their checks by mail. Residents who filed the 2021 tax rebate and changed their address can still update their address by filling out this form and submitting it to the Taxation and Revenue Department or on their website. The department is advising everyone who will reciprocate a paper check to update their address starting today. The direct deposit will be distributed first. Residents who filed their 2021 tax return with direct deposit can see their tax rebate checks that were issued on June 20.
It will still take a few days to process everything. It is estimated that paper checks will be printed on June 20-29. Residents who haven’t been able to file their tax rebate checks will have until May 31, 2024 to file and qualify for rebate checks. They can fill out or apply here.
