A Mother from Shiprock, New Mexico was indicted by federal jury on May 24 after stabbing her own daughter to death.

The mother is a 33-year-old woman, Maylene John, from Shiprock and was charged with second-degree murder by the federal jury in New Mexico.
The crime happened at the house of the suspect after claiming that she smoked methamphetamine.
John’s brother was the one who heard his niece yelling and calling for help.
According to a published news in True Crime Daily, John’s brother hurriedly ran to his sister’s house only to witness his niece lying on the floor with a stab wound on the torso. He found his sister at the edge side of the bed sitting and holding a knife to her neck.
John’s brother called for help at their neighbor’s house and helped his niece by wrapping the blanket around the wound putting pressure on it to stop the flow of the blood.

The daughter was pronounced dead shortly after the incident happened as stated by medical practitioners.
Authorities said that John has been going back and forth to a rehab house to deal with her drug issues. Her brother also added a statement that the suspect has a history of being suicidal for the past 10 years but can always sleep peacefully at night.
According to the Attorney in charge, John blacked out after knowing about the incident behind her daughter’s death.
The trial for John’s case is not yet scheduled. John was only indicted but will be convicted if testified and is proven guilty. If convicted, John will face her penalty of life imprisonment.
