Interview with the Alleged Suspect of Kidnapping

This week in a report released by Fox News, a German guy who was supposedly friends with the sole suspect in the kidnapping of British infant Madeleine McCann gave his first interview with a German newspaper. Helge B was the only name given to the man. said in an interview with Bild that 45-year-old Christian Brueckner suspect, unintentionally confessed to abducting Madeleine years ago while they were chatting over drinks.

When they were talking about the disappearance of Madeleine, Helge told Brueckner that he was so puzzled why a child would disappear without leaving a trace. Helge told the newspaper that Brueckner the suspect had consumed two or three beers before declaring, “She didn’t scream.” Helge remembered believing that if Brueckner was aware of such information, “he has something to do with” Madeleine’s disappearance.

Madeleine was taken from a ground-floor apartment on May 3, 2007, while she was three years old and on a family vacation in Praia da Luz, Portugal. German law enforcement identified Christian Brueckner suspect in the toddler’s disappearance in 2020. Brueckner keeps insisting that he has no connection to the case.

Brueckner spent a lot of time in Portugal in the years before Madeleine’s disappearance, particularly in Praia da Luz. According to Bild, Helge said he thought Brueckner was a “nice,” “personable, sociable” man at first.

Brueckner’s Conviction on Different Cases

The witness stated that after learning about Brueckner’s detention in an unrelated case, he and a friend allegedly searched through his apartment for diesel fuel since they knew he kept it there. Helge discovered the suspect’s tapes during the suspected break-in, and according to him, they show the suspect sexually assaulting a teenage girl who was around 13 or 14 years old as well as an elderly woman who spoke English.

Despite having testified to Scotland Yard, the London branch of the Metropolitan Police, about what is visible in the films, Helge claimed to Bild that he had misplaced the recordings from Brueckner’s residence.

Helge claimed that he believes Madeleine’s disappearance was brought on by a burglary gone wrong. Christian Brueckner suspect is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty, Helge told Bild. They are investigating a potential burglary angle. He probably didn’t intend to kidnap the child, but when he found the child, he took it against his better judgment. He continued by saying he was positive he had taken the child but wasn’t sure if he had killed her.

Helge continued by telling Bild that robbing Brueckner of his videos was “the biggest mistake” he had ever made in his life.

He told the publication, “I would have liked not to know anything about it. I’ve put on weight, have erratic periods, and have trouble sleeping at night, so I’m not doing well. The witness claims that the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA), the federal German police, has granted him security and assisted him in remaining at large.

In a statement, BKA informed Fox News Digital that it “does not comment on ongoing investigations or personal data” and sent the outlet to the Braunschweig public prosecutor’s office in Germany, which similarly refused to comment on the validity of any evidence or any witnesses.
