Following his 2006 conviction for cocaine trafficking in South Carolina, a man named Antran Hall was detained in Detroit. One of the country’s “most wanted” fugitives in South Carolina was captured last week in Detroit after nearly 20 years of hiding in plain sight, including deceiving his wife and children.
17 years in the Run, Finally Caught
Antran Hall had been on the run for 17 years as the most wanted fugitive before government enforcement, including the U.S., caught up with him in 2006. He was convicted guilty of drug trafficking and disregarding red and blue lights and labeled as the country’s most wanted fugitive in South Carolina. On Monday, Marshals located the most wanted fugitive in Detroit and took him into custody. According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina, his family only knew him by his fictitious name and identity, a report based on Fox News.
One of Anderson County’s most wanted fugitives was apprehended after 17 years on the run thanks to the persistence, devotion, and cooperation of our agencies, according to the U.S. Chrissie Latimore, the District Marshal of South Carolina, who made a statement.
Authorities in Capturing Hall
Law authorities discovered information earlier this year suggesting that Hall may have been using an alias to cover up as he was searched as the most wanted fugitive in the Motor City, which led to a roughly six-month-long investigation that led to the arrest.
After failing to show up twice for warrants, Hall was placed on the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office’s “most wanted” list, according to a statement.
Hall is being detained in Michigan’s Wayne County Detention Center while he awaits extradition to South Carolina.
