After discovering his 42-year-old live-in girlfriend’s body in a forested area, police detained a 39-year-old man on suspicion of killing her.
Missing Girl Leads to Death
According to the reports from True Crime Daily, Kimberly Hardy’s mother reported her missing on Sunday, June 18, after she hadn’t been seen since Friday, June 16, at her New Limerick home, according to Maine State Police. After receiving the missing person call, Maine State Police Troop F, the Computer Crimes Unit, the Maine Warden Service, and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North began looking for Hardy.
Hardy was receiving chemotherapy for cancer, which the Houlton Police Department noted was “supposed to be ongoing.”
A body was purportedly discovered by Maine game wardens in a wooded area close to the Harvey Siding Road as a result of the hunt for Hardy. The victim’s identification and manner of death will be verified by the chief medical examiner in Augusta. At Hardy’s School Street house on Monday, June 26, at 3:45 a.m., troopers detained Hardy’s boyfriend, Jayme Schnackenberg, on suspicion of killing Hardy.
