According to Top Class Actions, in 2021, a class-action lawsuit was hacked. Now Don Roberto Jewelers agreed to pay the settlement in filing a lawsuit following a data breach. The breach may have disclosed important and susceptible data on consumers or employees. The Social Security numbers may have been reach to terms in the hacking incident. However, the company did not acknowledge any misbehavior in the settlement, according to The U.S. Sun.
The payments from the $4 million pot will only be sent to eligible consumers and employees. Customers must have their addresses on the file from February 16, 2021, to March 3, 2021. According to the agreement, the claimants may receive a payment of up to $5,000 in repayment. Claimants can still receive their prices due to lost time of up to seven hours with $25 each and a total of $175. Furthermore, eligible California residents can acquire an additional $75 cash. If California residents cannot comply or reach $1.25 million, eligible residents may get $750 each.

This program does not stop here. Healthcare firm Acuity also filed and settled a class-action lawsuit from a data breach. Eligible residents may receive a payment of up to $500 to $3,500. Furthermore, Midwestern Pet Foods, Inc. And Nunn Milling Company also settled a class-action lawsuit; eligible claimants can expect a $25 to $150,000 cash payment. Claims must be filed on August 3, 2023.
