It is now believed that her remains have been discovered, although the location poses significant challenges for retrieval. Deputy District Attorney Mark Hurlbert revealed this development during a recent hearing, which had been requested by Suzanne’s husband, Barry Morphew, a long-standing suspect in the investigation.

According to NY Daily News, Suzanne Morphew was last seen alive on May 10, 2020, as she embarked on a leisurely bike ride near her Chaffee County home. Her disappearance sparked an extensive search effort that has continued ever since. While Suzanne’s body has not been located yet, her husband, Barry, faced charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant.

Surprisingly, all charges against Barry were dropped in April 2022, just before his scheduled trial. Nevertheless, he remains a person of interest in connection with Suzanne’s disappearance and presumed death. Deputy District Attorney Hurlbert cautioned that even if Suzanne’s remains are recovered, constructing a solid murder case against her husband could be a lengthy process, possibly spanning several years.

The recent discovery of Suzanne’s remains in a challenging and hard-to-reach location renews the focus on this perplexing case. The relentless pursuit of justice for Suzanne Morphew continues, as investigators grapple with the intricate complexities that lie ahead.
