In the 4800 block of West Iowa Street in Chicago’s West Side neighborhood of Austin, a 25-year-old woman was found dead with several gunshot wounds.

Victims During the Gathering

The woman was killed at the time of the gathering where several gunshots occurred from multiple offenders. The police immediately responded to the woman lying cold and unresponsive on the ground. They rushed the woman to Mt. Sinai Hospital but she was pronounced dead.

The other 6 victims were wounded from the gunshot that occurred during the gathering. On Sunday at 1 a.m. several loads of gunshots suddenly appeared in a crowd of people who were gathered to celebrate the death anniversary of the man who died in a car crash 4 years ago, police stated.

According to the officers in charge, six more people were injured. Three people — 2 males and 1 female suffering from gunshot wounds in their legs. Another two men also suffered from gunshot wounds; the other one had been shot in his arms and chest. The last victim was a 28-year-old woman who was suffering from a shot in the ear.

Cause of Crime

According to Deputy Chief Adenardo Gutierrez, many offenders started the gunshot that resulted in a verbal confrontation. Reporters flock to the west side of Austin, where the crime happened.

The names of the victims have yet to be published. The suspects were not apprehended and are still being investigated.
