The $6.88 billion federal grant intended for the project of the Hudson River Train Tunnel is the largest single transportation grant ever given to New York State and the largest federal grant ever awarded
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in an interview with Politico on Thursday said that federal officials awarded already the $6.88 Billion Hudson River Train Tunnel Project.
Schumer in a press conference at Manhattan railyard said “The dollars are there and Gateway will get done. ” “With this money in hand, even if Democrats lose control of the Senate and Donald Trump or another Republican hostile to the train tunnel project becomes president, the money cannot easily be taken back and the $17 billion train tunnel project will survive.” He further added, “To rescind federal grant money would require a supermajority in Congress will not happen.”
Schumer is rushing to award the biggest train tunnel before the 2024 elections.

The Onset Of The Train Tunnel Project
Under the administration of Trump, the former president convinced Schumer to support him in building a wall across the Mexican border and in exchange, Trump will support the train tunnel project.
The two politicians did not come up with a consensus.
Supporters of the train tunnel project are now relieved after the confirmation of the start of the date of the budget release.
The construction of the train tunnel project, the largest single transportation grant, will begin next summer.
